Finally top international Palestinian DJ Sama Abdulhadi was released on bail awaiting ongoing investigation and potential trial .
Hadi Mashal the Senior and managing partner leading the firms’ team representing the International Palestinian DJ Sama Abdulhadi said after the successful release on bail of Sama: Sama paid a heavy price for this unintentional, unforeseeable situation. It’s not acceptable that some part of the community can dictate what is moral and acceptable for the other part of the community. This is not the state that I want for myself and my children. This frustrated a lot of people in Palestine. As we all need to respect the views and rights of each other in the spirit of tolerance and civil society. I hope that Sama’ struggle will contribute to a change, and the indoctrination of The sanctity of freedom and civil rights.
We are very thankful to the international community for raising its voice. And I hope that those who attack Sama will also realize that Sama was only trying to promote Palestine through music, whether you like that music or not and it never crossed her mind that the event will cause this turmoil.
As things now stand Sama has been released on bail following an eight-day detention in a Jericho jail. The court order for her release is on the basis of a cash bond of 500 Jordanian Dinar bail and 2000 Jordanian Dinars Notarial Guarantee and a restriction of travel order outside of Palestine and is subject to further investigation on the charges of desecrating a holy site and religious symbols and violating Covid 19 emergency measures she faces up to two years of imprisonment if indicted. She has not been indicted yet and is awaiting the Attorney Generals decision whether the charges will be pursued or not, following the final results of the investigation. Abdulhadi is now safely with her family Awaiting further developments, we hope the voice of reason and rule of law will prevail.
